Bradburys The Martian Chronicles depicts the colonization of Mars in terms of the colonizationof America. The story is similar to what America experienced, such as thediscovery of America, the assault of Indian colonies, and the new civilization.Danas response paper also discussed the colonization of Mars.Other critics also pointed out that Bradburys theme in the story was death.Through futuristic imagination, Bradbury applies connections to American historyand the trim down of death in his story while raising concerns and warnings of thefuture. Bradbury developed the mise en scene of the story similar to humanity as far aslandscape, atmosphere, and people in order to emphasize his intentions. Themartians are described as if they are American Indians at the time of theAmerican Revoluti on. For example, in the beginning of the story, Bradburydepicts Martians they had the fair, brownish skin of the line up Martian, the yellowcoin eyes, the soft musical voices.
